Character | Best Gems |
---|---|
Matthew | Accurate Grace, Doublestrike, and Steelcleaver |
A | Lifesaving Expertise, Lifebearer, and Soothing Breath |
Nikol | Steel Protection, Brimming Spirit, and Ironclad |
Glimmer | Lifebearer, Swelling Blessing, and Lifesaving Expertise |
Shulk | Tailwind, Ultimate Counter, and Brimming Spirit |
Rex | Disperse Bloodlust, Analyze Weakness, and Doublestrike |
Na'el | Steelcleaver, Flowing Form, and Doublestrike |
Matthew needs a Dexterity and Strength boost to help him land more hits and deal damage. Doublestrike will help him maximize his damage while refilling his main Arts quickly.
A and Glimmer need to maximize their Healing, making those Gems crucial since each one boosts their Healing while offering some revive benefits for challenging fights. Glimmer also has multiple buffs, making Swelling Blessing essential.
Nikol must maximize his Aggro, HP, and Block Rate, so few attacks will hit or kill him. If you struggle to build Aggro at the start of fights, choose Perilous Presence.
Shulk is a dodge tank, making Tailwind and Brimming Spirit necessities. Ultimate Counter works well since he deals tons of damage, which further boosts his damage. Go with Accurate Grace if Shulk keeps missing his auto-attacks.
As for Rex, he builds Aggro quickly, making Disperse Bloodlust a necessity. On top of that, he deals most of his damage through Critical Hits, making Analyze Weakness excellent while getting more hits with Doublestrike.
Na'el also needs to maximize her attacks, but you can't play as her. If you want her to function well alone, try Steelcleaver, Flowing Form, and Doublestrike for more damage and auto-attacks. Go with Disperse Bloodlust if she keeps drawing Aggro.

Party Accessory and Manual Recommendations
Character | Best Accessories | Best Manuals |
---|---|---|
Matthew | Thermo Headgear, Lustrous Armring, and Warped White Brooch | Strategy Manual vol. 5 |
A | Gold Gear Choker, Devotional Necklace, and Mercy Earring | Strategy Manual vol. 8 |
Nikol | Sergeant's Headband, Colorful Feather, and Smart Protector | Strategy Manual vol. 1 |
Glimmer | Gold Gear Choker, Affection Ring, and Crystal Earrings | Strategy Manual, vol. 18 |
Shulk | Feather Misanga, Heavy Foot Protector, and Lazure Vambraces | Strategy Manual vol. 4 |
Rex | Gold Necklace, Lustrous Armring, and Silver Earrings | Strategy Manual vol. 6 |
Na'el | Nopon Strap, Cracked Crystal, and Violent Stone | Strategy Manual, vol. 18 |
Matthew's Accessories focus on boosting his damage while giving him a bit more Critical Hits. As for the Manual, he'll get more TP, which synergizes well with Tanks in a Chain Attack and also deal more damage during a Chain Attack if you complete his Order.
A's focuses on maximizing her Art recharge since her best Healing Arts can take a while to activate. The choker also helps her take fewer hits, so she won't go down. The Manual can also boost the team's damage in a Chain Attack while adding more TP to the group.
Nikol will get a boost to his Defense, constantly build Aggro, and also improve his Block Rate when his health gets low. The Manual can help you boost survivability after the Chain Attack.
Glimmer also needs help with lower Aggro, though the other accessory will boost her Healing. You'll also fill your Chain Attack gauge faster, helping your party to deal more damage.
Shulk should maximize his Evasion, making Misanga great for brutal fights. He'll have higher Evasion during his auto-attacks and get more Aggro. As for the Manual, it goes well with a Defender while giving more TP to the team, making him great for a first order.
Rex tends to get too much Aggro, making the Gold Necklace vital. On top of that, you'll boost his Critical Hits while gaining Chain Attack meter as he lands Critical Hits, which Rex often does. On top of that, the Manual will also help the team build more damage and land Critical Hits.
Na'el uses Arts often, making the recharge important, while the Cracked Crystal and Violent Stone will help her with damage. As for her Manual, it'll allow the party to ignore Defense during a Chain Attack, helping you to reach the millions in damage.
