I can't share enough wonderful things about this place. It's clean. The staff are friendly and attentive. The ships are magnificent and the restaurant is just magical with it's many hidden gems, as well as the ones on display. It is definitely uniquely built and I hope many of you are able to visit. The food is amazing. The amount & variety is plentiful. You really can't go wrong. There's something for everyone and it tastes just as fantastic. If you ever get the opportunity to visit that area, please treat yourself. You will -not- be disappointed.
Sit back my friends and let me tell you a story about the very best Calabash Buffet Restaurant in the Grand Strand. Our party of eight arrived and while the parking lot was full were still able to find three slots. You cannot make reservations so your journey begins with a long slow walk up to the desk to register for dinner. Each group is given a seafarers name which starts the fun. After a nominal 30 minute wait we were guided to our table by a Deck Hand after picking up a few trays of Hush puppies which were hot and good. Next begin our 170 Food Buffet wonder land. In no way would nor could I list all the items but suffice to say the unlimited Crab Leg Clusters were and are a big hit. Steamed Clams, Mussels, Shrimp 🦐, plus Roast Beef Pasta Station, Fried Food area were all fantastic. The cost is a bit high at $50 per person, $21.99 for children under 12 plus drinks and an 18% gratuity for parties of 8+ cost us $484.00 but we'll worth it as this may only be a once a trip outing. Simply we have been coming here for 20+ years and wouldn't do so unless it was a really special place. Hope you give it a try.
Every trip to Myrtle Beach warrants a trip to Original Benjamin's Calabash! The food along with the most delicious crab legs are simply amazing! It's always a HIT never a miss and we love coming back year after year! Let's not forget the amazing staff that offers the best customer service ever. This experience is long standing as every waiter and waitresses that we've encountered has had amazing customer service skills! My family and I love it and I can say we have made it a family tradition!💞

I can see why this place was rated #1 in Myrtle Beach. The atmosphere is awesome. I have never been anywhere that had so much nautical treasures. Plus Jimmy the ship builder is very talented. He has been doing custom scale models for them for 30 years. Anyone who knows how hard it is to do those he does all them by hand. His area is where it says the arcade is. He is very fun to talk to and loves talking about his upcoming models he's working onThe buffet holy cow so much of a selection. You have blackened tuna salmon flounder. Then crab cakes crab legs and so much more. Literally seems like it goes on and on. Huge selection and very worth the price. The crab cakes are the best we had. My mom dad and I all have been to the Chesapeake Bay for crab cakes and used to think they had the best up there in Annapolis nope new favorite spot. What a great experience.
We came to Myrtle Beach to celebrate my birthday just for a few days. We were able to get a discount for our family and came here for dinner. This was one of the highlights of my birthday trip! We all enjoyed the massive buffet selection. There was something for everyone. We ate our fill of crab and shrimp and various other seafood. The prime rib was delicious. The staff sang "Happy Birthday" to me and presented a chocolate cupcake, which made my night! We all really had a fun time here!
