Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade | Rotten Tomatoes (2024)

The movie "Jin-Roh" is about those in society who are predators among prey. But these "beasts" never bother to change their shape; like Red Riding Hood's wolf, they merely drape themselves with human clothes that do not even disguise the eyes, teeth and claws of a killer. Society rightly fears them. In "Jin-Roh," the Capital Police are themselves hunted -- marked for elimination as a force by their own government, and by a public eager to forget the past.

Greg K Although the pace is slow and the dialogues plenty, the criss-cross cat-and-mouse game is fleshed out with depth and pathos. Rated 3.5/5 Stars • Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 08/05/23 Full Review Johnathon W Powerful science fiction movie playing on the scary aspects of a totalitarian state that doesn't give any easy answer. The cast is uniformly excellent, probably realistic depictions of both terrorists and law enforcement, while the writer/director depicts a very gray and gritty world. You actually understand both sides of the story, as the police genuinely believe they are protecting the public good while the terrorists are fighting for freedom. Most interestingly, it doesn't really take a side, only showing how this kind of conflict devastates both. It is nicely mixed with some gritty action, especially when the Special Squad shows off their elite armor. One of the better and more mature anime movies. Rated 4.5/5 Stars • Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/20/23 Full Review Audience Member An anime classic that needs to be seen! Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member The art is great, the action scenes and gore are great, and the ending being a downer is a plus from me. But overall the story had me interested but never really paying off. I ended up with more questions than answers, and not really in a good way. Rated 3.5/5 Stars • Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Audience Member Solid movie choice for those interested in drawn-by-hand anime genre. The action is brutal and aesthetically pleasing. Yet, the story itself can drag on a bit at certain points. But the movie does enough to keep the viewer going and wanting more.Do love the soundtrack, character design, and realism.4.5/5. Half a star off for some especially slow parts. Rated 4.5/5 Stars • Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member Absolutely wonderful movie. I live the writing, the art, the mood . It was a thoroughly enjoyable watch, with my only complaint being a desire for a little action in the middle of the movie.
